Hydra's Beach Boats
Getting back and forth from Hydra Harbour to the organised beaches of Hydra is easy and convenient with the island's fleet of speedy beach boats.
All the beach boats moor next to each other along the harbour wall opposite the Cathedral clock tower in Hydra Town.
Each beach boat travels to a specific destination and only to the organised beaches of Vlychos, Plakes, Bisti, Nikolaous & Mandraki. For all other beaches you will either have to walk (hike in some cases) or take a water taxi.
Prices
You pay when you board in Hydra port for a return trip. You will be given a receipt. Due to some Greek laws, it is not possible to buy a single ticket. So if you want to walk to a beach and then a beach boat back you will still have to buy a return ticket at the departure point in Hydra before you set off, even if you don't use half of it.
During the season, the boat owners put sandwich boards or notices on the back of their boats to say where they are going, what time of departure and return.
