Farming & Fishing on Hydra Island

Hydra is very dependent on tourism as well as its building industry. There is however a thriving sea fishing industry along with small scale olive production. Fish is sold exclusively to Hydra residents and restaurants off the back of the boats. Olive harvesting is in the Autumn and there are about twenty beekeepers on the island.
