Substantial Hydra holiday house to rent sleeps 10 people in 5 large bedrooms in complete comfort and is perfect for two families to share as there is a great deal of space and independence. Welcome to Siran House, which we rebuilt from a ruin to create our dream holiday home that we welcome you to share. Throughout you will find many personal touches that makes it our home from home with comfortable furniture, refreshingly painted in soothing, crisp Mediterranean colours and decorated with original artwork.

Main House

Ground floor entrance room with piano (this room connects the west wing to the main house)

Internal stone stairs

Open plan living space open to the rafter with ceiling fans. There is also a television in the sitting room.

Fitted kitchen with internal dining area

Access to all outside areas as well as a huge dining terrace with sunset and countryside views.

Located in the upper Kamini Village, Siran House is close to both the Four Corners and Ghikas (who will deliver) Supermarkets and is a medium walk from Hydra port taking the main Lignou Street. An averagely fit person can walk to the house from either Kamini or Hydra Harbour in about 10 minutes. The house is equidistant between the two harbours. There are two entrances to Siran House from the street. One to the entrance courtyard (for independent access to the west wing bedrooms), and the other into the walled garden (with independent access to the east wing bedrooms).

Main House

Living Space

The open plan upper floor living space of the central main house is where everyone can enjoy being together. The sitting room has two large comfortable sofas and there are plenty of chairs and leather covered bean bags to lounge on.

You'll find a desk for those who need to do some computer work during their stay and we have excellent WiFi coverage in all areas of the house. There are ceiling fans in the living room to drop the temperature if necessary.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is the hub of the house and is well equipped to create family meals for those occasions when you want to dine at home.

We're French and we love to eat at home as a family, so you will find everything is provided from a decent bread knife to good quality cooking pots.

And in the piano room, down the internal stairs, you will find an iron and board.

To the kitchen end of the living space there is a large sunset-facing dining terrace which is where you can take breakfast, eat lunch under the pergola or enjoy evenings watching the sun go down followed by dinner under the stars.

Internal stone stairs from the kitchen lead down to the 'piano room' and from here you can walk through the walled small courtyard to the bedrooms in the west wing which are below the main dining terrace.

West Wing

The west wing is on the lower level, and has 3 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, a utility room and a separate WC. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have window shutters to close out the sun during the heat of the day and to keep the rooms dark first thing in the morning if you don't want the sun to wake you.

All bedrooms are fitted with large wardrobes and drawers so you can properly unpack. Plenty of linens and towels, including beach towels, are provided.

There is a washing machine in a small room off the corridor and a clothesline in the courtyard for drying laundry. You'll find a board and iron in the piano room.

Bedroom 1 in the west wing is a master bedroom with a king size double bed and en-suite shower room.

East Wing

On the same level as the main living space, the eastern building houses two bedrooms (sharing a 'jack and jill' en-suite shower room), which open directly the Eastern side terrace above the garden.

Bedroom 4

This bedroom has a king size double bed and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The door opens directly onto the east terrace.

Bedroom 5

This is a twin bedroom with 2 single beds, a wardrobe with shelves and also opens to the east terrace.

Outside

Siran House is as spacious outside as it is inside. In addition to the large west dining terrace, the courtyard and the east terrace there is also a wonderful garden to enjoy and a walled area above the garden which is a suntrap for those who like to sunbathe. There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy at different times of the day with shady areas too.

The garden is planted with mediterranean herbs and plants and bountiful lemon trees. You are welcome to use the lemons for your drinks and to make lemonade. 

As part of the rental fee, a donkey man will meet you on your arrival at the port, transport your luggage, and escort you to the property, where our housekeeper will give you the keys and show you around the house. The kitchen will be stocked with drinking water and some snacks. You will also find an English/French "Siran and Hydra Insider's Guide" to the house and the island, written from our personal experience of living in Hydra, with many suggestions and useful telephone numbers.
